Reignite

Sustainable street art and lighting proposal.
Made from laser cut and formed stainless steel with solar powered lighting system. The motif around the base is a manipulated graphic from a photograph taken from inside a monument in Macquarie Place, Sydney.

The image has been made to be viewed on the round with 360o viewing points.
Influenced by the concept of moths being drawn to a flame, the motif also includes illusions of moths being drawn up from the ground to the light source.

The intention is to drawn more people to the laneways of Sydney and Reignite the cityscape. The diffused lamp reduces light pollution and is programed to turn on automatically in response to the dimming natural sunlught.

Insert - Touch sensitive wearable LED light sources. Hand cut and formed anondized aluminum on PVC cord. With future technology these wearable devices will interact with the street lamps, acting as personal lights to navigate through the city
and activate the lamps. The city will have a dynamic mapping of firefly like lights leading to the active laneways of Sydney
